my first saturday

Since I started working at Vivint in January, I have had to work every Saturday. It was either work every Saturday or every Sunday and obviously I chose Saturday. But now I have moved up in the world, okay just at Vivint to a new position where I work the normal M-F job and get my weekends off. Saturdays I used to whine and complain to Randy about getting up and having to go to work, but now I can sleep in and play all day long. And it means I can stay up late on Friday too. Friday night we took my cousins Moriah and Ridge to the dollar movies, Moriah and I went to the Lucky One and Randy and Ridge hit up Wrath of the Titans in 3D, but we went to the last showing which got out around midnight (wouldn't have been able to that before).

Now today Randy and I decided to hike up to Stewart Falls. It was a hot day so the falls were refreshing. Here are some picture from the hike.
Randy sitting under the middle of the falls.
It doesn't look like that much water, but he said it was pounding so hard.

With all the wildfires going on in Utah, the danger is extreme.

Stewart Cascades

Trail was not very wide so we had to walk single file..

We made it to the falls

Then after we finished our hike we went and swam at Erica's (my sister in law) pool to cool down again. Then we came home cleaned up and went to an Owls Baseball game.

And then had a late night craving for something sweet...

Whats better than krispy kreme doughnuts and a big glass of milk??

All in all--the best Saturday in a long time :)

Randall Duke and I have been married for two whole months.

Life is just so happy and wonderful.

p.s- two months. I feel like its been way longer than that.
p.p.s- I love all my wedding photos. I could look through them all day, everyday. Thanks to our wonderful photographer Lori Harris. (Visit her photo blog if you would like to see more of her work http://photography-bylori.blogspot.com/)

oatmeal pancakes

The Coburn side of the family has a tradition with some food. One of our traditions for Grandma's house is Oatmeal Pancakes, they are a delicious thin pancake made out of flour, water, eggs, evaporated milk and oatmeal. You cook it and then you spread on butter and sprinkle sugar and roll it up and eat it. They are delicious. I made them for the second time in my life, and the first time Randy has ever eaten them (maybe not the best way to introduce them to him, since i'm still not very good at it)

soccer weekend

On Friday night Randy and I went to Zupas to get dinner before Aren's (my brother in law) surprise birthday party. He turned 30. Charli made delicious cupcakes for the party too.

After the celebration we all went to the BYU men's soccer game and make a cheering section. And we are now full fledged byu mens soccer fans. We learned all the soccer cheers, chants, and songs. The funniest part is that only our group cheers. Whenever we aren't cheering it is silent in the stands-- you can bascially hear only the players yelling at each other. I don't think i've been to another sporting event where people just watch and don't cheer on the players. Anyway, our group definately did that, and here are some pictures from the game.
Those horns are called vuvuzelas. They are freakin loud at the game.

There was also a game on Saturday night that we went to, but before going we got some froyo (frozen yogurt). Randy has been craving some and I got one of those text message coupons for buy 1 get 1 free, so we decided to go!

And we can't forget this cute baby sophie who came to the game as well and help squeal along with the cheers :)

Allred

one of my favorite local bands is called Allred. We've been able to go to two of their shows the past two weekends. Its been a lot of fun. The concert this weekend was a benefit concert and Allred opened for this band called Green River Ordinance. I had never heard of them before but they were awesome! I really enjoyed their music and even had Randy buy me the new cd afterwards!  Here's a video of one of their slower songs I like!

Us at the concert--which was actually on the UVU softball field outside.  It was neat!

As it got darker and the wind started to blow it started to get a bit cold...

Green River Ordinance. They played their encore song unplugged in the middle of the crowd.

Saturday night we went to the BYU boys soccer game. The Cougars beat the Seahorses (awful team name) 5-0. It was a very exciting second half.

pretty sunset at the game.

cherry pickin'

On our walk we noticed that our apartment building has three cherry trees with cherries just for us, and well for us that meant that the other tenants knew about it and all the low branches were picked clean. But that's not a problem for my man-- when he knows what he wants he gets it.

High up in the tree

he handed them down for me to hold and after getting so high up started filling his coat pocket.

adventure time

During the week we were bored after work and decided to hit up trafalga again.

One of the softballs bounced and hit me in the noggin

go cart racing (Randy got stuck in the slow car the first time, wasn't too happy about it, haha)

black light mini golf time, where we each rocked it and got multiple hole in ones :)

weekend fun

Friday night:
We set-up a double date with my Miquel and Kyle (our cute little engaged couple). We went to Texas Roadhouse, because I love their rolls, and then to Trafalga to do some mini golf. And can I just say that pass of all passes are the best thing ever--Randy and I paid $10 each for our passes and will get so much more out of them than that. Such a steal of a deal.  Anyways here are some fun pictures from the evening. And did I mention I got a hole in one on two different holes! :) Oh yeah and to finish off the evening we got some yogurt from yogurtland. yummmmy!

Saturday night:
Randy and I went to Seven Peaks after I got off work around 5:30. It was my first time ever going. We stayed for just about an hour since only two slides were open that you didn't need to rent a tube for. It was so much fun and I can't wait for more slides to be open and for the sun to be out- it was kinda cloudy tonight. Then we did pizza and a redbox. I just love being married to my best friend!

Sunday night:
After a wonderful fast sunday we headed down to Payson to Todd and Stacey's (Randy's parents good friends) to eat a wonderfully cooked meal.We had smoked ribs, salad and scones. And then some homemade shaved ice with probably 12 or so flavors you could use to mix and match  for your bowl. Then we stopped by Beth and Jasen's house to see their kids and visit with them! It is always fun to catch up and her cute kids are always exciting to be around!

craft time

On my day off this week I went over to my Aunt Wendi's house where she helped me to sew pillowcases for my pillows. I picked out the fabric from Hobby Lobby and tried to do one of these no-sew cases, but it didn't turn out as cute as the example online, so graciously Wendi taught me how to use her sewing machine and cut out the pattern for the pillow covers.

(Look Mom, I sewed these!)

Here is a picture of the couch with the ugly red and brown cases and a picture of it in my living room with the new cases. I love them!
