temple night

Randy and I went to the temple tonight! It was my first time going back since we've been married.  The Provo Temple looked beautiful and the weather was just perfect when we came outside. Oh the blessings of having a temple so close by. I love it!

Then we came home and had Mildenhall waffles. Definition of Mildenhall waffles is a waffle with ice cream, strawberries, and whip cream. Yes, we have the most healthy dinners ever. And we sure do enjoy them!

memorial weekend

For the long weekend the Mildenhall family headed up to Brigham City to spend time with Scott and Joann and to be there for Matt's homecoming talk. On the road trip up there we stopped at our favorite burrito place, Chipotle. It was super delicious.
talent: eating a chipotle burrito while driving

Matt just returned from the Oregon Eugene mission. They had a little luncheon after church.. and let me just say all the food there was marvelous. It was fun to visit with cousins and also with Grandma and Grandpa Mildenhall.

While in Brigham City we stayed at the HoJo (also known as the Howard Johnson hotel). We drove around the neat little town and even got a glimpse of the new temple!

It is so pretty and has the look of the Salt Lake temple, but mini. I love it and am excited for the open hose and dedication at the end of the summer.

On memorial day we had a BBQ at Charlene and Aren's parent's house. I had fun hanging out with the little girls.

the boys had fun shooting bb guns at plastic cup and marshmallow targets

And Randy and I have been able to watch Captain America and Thor in preparation to see the Avengers. (mostly because I haven't seen the movies and I wanted to before the Avengers because it would make a little more sense)

All in all a wonderful weekend. Success.

family bonfire

A few weekends ago Randy brought home some scrap wood from work at Sunroc. He knew I've been wanting to go up the canyon and have a bonfire so he called all the siblings and we coordinated bringing hot dogs, marshmallows, and stuff for smores and went to South Fork park. Its a nice area with fire pits. And we had a good time up there visiting and eating- probably our two favorite things. :)

So you think you can dance

The premier  of the new season of So You Think You Can Dance was on last night! It is such a fun show to watch and in previous years there are usually one or two members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I was discussing with Randy if there would be any this year and right as we are saying this a cute mother of 2 is on the screen talking about her love for dance and they are filming inside her house and there on the wall is a huge picture of the Salt Lake City temple-- we spotted it! haha, and let me just say it was the sweetest part of the whole show. The mom was a great dancer and her kids are so adorable. He is a video I found of her little girl dancing on stage. It is so precious!

flower power

Since I'm on the kick of telling kinda funny stories here is another one for you.
The day before my wedding we picked up my bouquet, the lady who was doing my reception was also doing my flowers as well. I had explained the size and look of the bouquet that I wanted and named a few of the flowers that I knew I liked. She had done well at understanding the theme/look I was going for with the reception and so I wasn't worried.

Well when we picked up the bouquet she went back to the fridge to get it and brought it out to us and it was huge. And when I say huge, I mean it!
(and here is a picture to show it)

I rode with it in my lap all the way to Salt Lake because we were staying up there the night before so we wouldn't have to get up an extra hour for driving time.I was looking at it and was so unhappy about it. Everything else was going just right except this bouquet. Once we got to the hotel room I told my mom that I hated it and just needed to redo the whole thing to make it smaller. So there in the hotel room we took out each flower and then started from scratch. (not to mention we didn't have floral tape or any supplies but the jute that was already around it, my dad's knife, and some packaging tape)

But we did it and I loved my bouquet..and even dried it for a keepsake :)

family dinner

Here is a story that most of you have not heard and will enjoy..

We had a dinner two nights before the wedding and we went to Red Robin. Randy got to pick a yummy place for both of our families to come and eat and get to know each other better. It was such a great night and of course I was just on cloud nine knowing I would be marrying Randy so soon! Most of you know that with their burgers come bottomless fries. They would bring around baskets of fries and their fry sauce to go with it. Well when setting down the plate of fry sauce and accident occured...and not to just anyone, but the bride-to-be
So you can all see that it got all in my hair, what i noticed first is it on my pants and then slowly realize that it is in my hair as it seeps down my hair.

And the waitress then proceed to bring some nasty rag and wipe at my hair. So I went to the bathroom and cleaned up and we enjoyed the rest of our evening!

madison brooke

Got a letter in the mail today. Opened it up and found this inside and hung it on our fridge

My little sister is graduating on Friday!! I'm kinda sad I won't be there for here, but then remember how long and boring graduation can be...haha :)

My sister is such a little smartie pants super star! She is such a well rounded person who is smart, sassy, and outgoing. When she puts her mind to something and when she wants something-- she gets it.

Here are just a few of the awards she got at the senior honors nights-
- Presidential Academic Excellence Award
-AP Chemistry Student of the Year
-Choral Music Award
and
-Certificate/Pin for competing in the literary competition where she performed a solo and in the trio

I love her so much and am so excited for her to be moving out to Provo this fall to go to school at BYU. It will be so great to have 3 of my 5 siblings out here to have get togethers with and what not. Not to mention she is going to love being on her own in the freshman at college scene.

we will always be besties.

starting fresh

So I finally got around to creating the blog for my new married life (which I am enjoying so much)! I absolutely love being married! Everyday when I am at work I count down the hours til I get to meet up with my man again at our home! I never get tired of saying that, our home! This is just the beginning of lots of memories and good times ahead.

We have finally settled into our new apartment. It pretty cozy and I love it! I will dedicate a post to our apartment and the interior decorating that i've been up to at a later time! Keep checking back because I have lots of little post with pictures to catch up on-- featuring the events leading up to the wedding, the wedding day, the honeymoon, and then back to reality, the day to day stuff :)
